TEDx BrayfordPool Comes To Lincoln! – “Ideas worth spreading”

This . Is . Exciting!

Innovators and Pioneers are being invited to sign up to talk at Lincolnshire’s first TEDx event, in Lincoln. TEDxBrayfordPool will take place on Saturday, October 28 in The Collection museum, with the theme of Past, Present, Future.

TED is a global community, joining people from every culture, discipline and industry to share a deeper understanding of the world. It’s uses the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world through inspiring conferences, events and videos.

There have been many big names appearing in TED Talks over the years, including Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking, Bono, Richard Branson, Jamie Oliver and plenty more.

TEDx events specifically have been created with the same ethos of “ideas worth spreading”, yet is organised and coordinated locally and independently.

TEDxBrayfordPool coordinator Andy Farenden spoke to the Lincolnite and said:

“At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections.”

“Our TEDx event is not organized by TED Conferences, but is operated under a license from TED. We’re excited to be a TEDx licensee and are reaching out to a select group of companies that are committed to the power of ideas to support our TEDx event.

“We want our TEDx to stimulate discussion and catalyse change. Our aim is for TEDxBrayfordPool to showcase the very best, and most current ideas, generated in Lincoln and Lincolnshire, to a global and enlightened audience to inspire change for good.”

The theme of the Lincoln event will be Past. Present. Future. An apt theme for a City founded in the Iron Age, developed in the Roman era as a port and now thriving as a vibrant social hub; home to many tech and start up companies, such as ourselves, at Belton Intel.

Adam added at that talk’s theme “represents of the past, present and future of Lincoln as well as the ever-changing flow of ideas.”.

It’s safe to say that we are very excited for this event! You can get tickets from mid-July. For more information, to sign up as a speaker or to get tickets, visit the Ted Page here: https://www.ted.com/tedx/events/22593
